Sometimes I perform with smaller items; cards, coins, bills, lice. The show becomes compact so I can actually carry a whole show in my pockets or in a small suitcase. There are many advantages to this kind of show.

It's light - I'm lazy.

Actually, it means that I can perform anywhere; whether in the close confines of a trade show booth without taking up to much space or wandering through a reception taking the entertainment to the people.

A lot of people prefer close up magic to stage magic as it seems more magical. It is happening right in front of them, sometimes in their own hands, not a stage or television away.  It can have a much more powerful affect than even that dumb Statue of Liberty trick. (Which by the way did go up his sleeve.)

Close-up magic circulates energy amongst your guests and keeps it going throughout the evening.  Your guests are personally engaged by the entertainment and can choose their own level of involvement; whether they want to see something a little closer or from a slightly different angle or even become active volunteers.

Close-up magic is fluid, able to adapt to unique people and situations throughout an evening, and it means that your guests don't have to change their focus (something they may be enjoying) just because a show is starting.
